New producer, new region, new exciting flavors! In 2024, we partnered up with a new smallholder producer in Chelbesa village in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia to bring you this special washed bean. Shade-grown under a forested canopy, this comes from ancient varietals - Wolisho and Dega - from the birthplace of the coffee plant.
Those who tried the previous Lucia will still find the notes of strawberry on top that defined that roast. This washed process bean has a much cleaner taste with a light honey sweetness that serves as the foundation for the fruity blackberry middle. As it clears off the tongue, you are left with the floral aromatics of jasmine for a pleasant, clean finish.

Brewing Tips: As a light roast, we recommend brewing with methods geared towards increasing extraction. This usually means hotter water and/or a finer grind. Cold brew methods should be avoided. We love Lucia as an espresso when prepared using a set-up that allows control over these parameters.
